Literature searching support

If you require assistance with a literature search on a specific subject, staff are available to help. Please email the library with search overview, your forthcoming weekday availability and phone number we will be happy to arrange a online session with you.

Guides on how to search the NHS Healthcare databases are available here.

Please note
we do not have the capacity to undertake search assistance for full systematic reviews.
The researcher team’s academic institution(s) and professional body libraries should be consulted in relation to Systematic Reviews. The PenARC Searching and Review Clinics may also be a source of Systematic Review search support.

Searching NHS library resources training

We offer regular training sessions on how to search the different clinical evidence resources available to you and your teams through the library. These informal small group session run on Microsoft Teams for 1 hour. Times for upcoming sessions are available here. Please email the library to book a place.

If these aren’t suitable, or you require an in person session, please email us with dates and times that would be convenient for you and we will make arrangements.

If you have colleagues who would benefit from the same training, we can arrange bespoke search training for departmental, education and research groups using relevant topics and resources. Please email with individual or group requirements and a contact phone number so we can arrange a session for you.
