Databases (Guide)

Search the NHS healthcare databases :

AMED                                                 BNI
CINAHL                                              EMBASE
Health Business Elite                       HMIC
MEDLINE                                           PsycINFO

Subjects covered include medicine, nursing, pharmacology, health management and allied health information. Note- you will need an NHS Athens login.
Databases contain bibliographic records i.e. references. Whilst you won’t have fulltext access to all the articles referenced, where we do have a subscription we link through to the electronic journal or list the library shelf number for print journals.

If we don’t have a subscription to your required article you can consider making an article request via the library.

Journals
Search the A-Z list of print and electronic journals (ejournals) available to you.
Note- you will need an NHS Athens login.

Print journals will tell you the Discovery Library shelf or departmental location, ejournals will give a link to the journal site (access to individual ejournals is generally via Athens login but some will list a separate username and password).

If your required journal is not available consider making an article request via the library.
