Library resources and support for UHP staff undertaking research projects

Discovery Library, Level 5, Derriford Hospital, supports staff across UHP to find the best available evidence to support your research project, whatever your profession or topic.

To gain access to the range of resources available and obtain support from Discovery Library there are 3 things you need to do:

1.Register for UHP OpenAthens account + library card

You will need a University Hospitals Plymouth OpenAthens account to access UHP subscribed electronic content.

Once registered you can use your email address as your username.

If you need to reset your password

If you have an OpenAthens account from another NHS organisation
please login here and change your organisation to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

We can provide:

  • Literature search assistance– helping you to formulate a search strategy to find evidence to support your research question and locate fulltext of relevant content
    Please note we do not have the capacity to undertake search assistance for full systematic reviews.
    The researcher team’s academic institution(s) and professional body libraries should be consulted in relation to Systematic Reviews. The PenARC Searching and Review Clinics may also be a source of Systematic Review search support.
